Round one's theme is "Start your engine". I must admit I was a bit puzzled by the theme (especially considering I will be limiting myself to my current hord of minis and I don't usually paint vehicles). I was considering at some moment a less literal interpretation of the theme, but when I found my mini I thought it'd be best to keep it simple :

I decided to take part in the Iron Painter 2012 competition. So if I don't DNF, this site should see more WIP .

Juste a quick word to say that the Lugdunum Open will be held from February 18th to 19th this year in Lyon,France. Online sign-ups will start January 14th at noon (French time).

They're celebrating their 10th edition so things should be big (special guests, ...).

I hope 2012 will be a good year for all the people following this blog !

An interesting thing, this month's White Dwarf publishes the dates for every 2012 GD :

*) Spain : Sunday, July 1st;
*) U.S.A. : Sunday, July 28th;
*) Germany : Sunday, August 12th;
*) Australia : Sunday, September 9th;
*) England : Sunday, September 23rd;
*) Italie : Sunday, October 14th;
*) France : Sunday, October 28th.

Some may notice that the French GD has drastically changed it's usual date (April/May). But hey, that gives me more time !

Saturday and Sunday were much more busy. With the fine weather we had a picnic in the nearby parc. I got Bronze in the Confirmed category of the Fantask Open painting contest.

Back from my vacation, I had the joy to see that my Shapeways order came in :

A Dragon Ring in "Antique Bronze Glossy" :



I'm happy with general outcome. Some details didn't come out (the tongue), but that shouldn't be a problem for finer materials.

And a set of 10 25mm Industrial Bases in "White Strong and Flexible Polished" :



95% of the details came out perfectly, some bolts disapeared, but for gaming usage the quality/cost is fine.

Yay, it was a fun project !
